For my practicum project, I volunteered for 45 hours for College Park Meals on Wheels. The mission of Meals on Wheels is to provide meals to help limit food insecurity in the College Park community. Meals on Wheels also delivers to veterans, individuals with disabilities, individuals with limited mobility, and low income. Meals on Wheels attempts to address the no hunger and good health sustainability goals. Volunteering for Meals on Wheels has led me to amazing people that enjoy helping others. It has taught me that giving a little of my time can make a significant impact on someone’s life. I delivered meals and have put smiles on peoples faces and have also prepped meals with very generous human beings. For delivering I would make multiple stops on my route to deliver hot and cold meals. For meal prepping I would make sandwiches, help in an assembly line, and prepare hot meals. It was a wonderful experience that I was proud to be involved in.
