Over the Winter I worked in Glen Burnie Dental Care where I had the opportunity to shadow Dr. Penafiel (general dentist) and chair side assist with dental procedures. During my time at the office, I learned that financial constraints can heavily influence one's decision on dental care. In addition, dentists can approach the situation in a way that makes dental care accessible. Those who have a negative perspective due to financial constraints on dental care tend to experience negative impacts on their oral health. This is connected to Public Health because it ties into socioeconomic disparities and how they influence the behavior and overall health of an individual.
