For my practicum project I worked as a medical assistant at Johns Hopkins Community Physicians North Bethesda. During my time at the practice I administered vaccines, took vitals, conducted many point of care tests, prepared patients for their visits, and worked on updating and maintaining patient records. Being a primary care practice we saw a wide variety of patients with a variety of concerns. Through this experience I learned the importance of teamwork in medicine. It takes a lot to get patients ready for their visit with the doctor, and medical assistants serve a critical role.
