For my Practicum Project, I worked with two registered dietitians who run their own business, PostGlo Nutrition & Wellness, providing 1:1 nutrition counseling and education resources through social media tailored towards parents. My work included writing blog posts, creating social media posts, virtual newsletters, and online resources. We addressed the public health issue of the struggle for parents to balance the health of themselves and their families through nutrition. Many parents lack the knowledge and resources to make informed nutrition decisions. By replacing nutrition misinformation with evidence-based facts and realistic recommendations, parents are able to better care for their families. Proper nutrition is fundamental to health, and when parents have the knowledge and resources to properly feed themselves and their families, all aspects of health improve. As I work towards becoming a registered dietitian, my work with PostGlo has given me insight to how I can spread nutrition education to improve the health of certain populations, specifically parents.
