For my practicum project I worked as a communication intern for the non-profit Public Health Beyond Borders where I developed public health toolkits to be used as guides for interventions implemented by chapters of the organization. In addition, I helped to create promotional materials to be used for fundraising for PHBB and to get the word out about the organization. Through this opportunity, I learned more about cultural competency, implementing it into creating toolkits that could be applied to a variety of communities, but still allowed for personalization to suit the needs of the community.
