Scribing and Swabbing at Express HealthCare

Presenter: Mohammed Ndiaye, Physiology & Neurobiology, Global Public Health Scholars

I worked at Express Healthcare, College Park as a medical scribe and swabber. Some of my responsibilities included documenting charts, swabbing COVID patients, and ordering PCR and Rapid tests. This connects to public health because I am a part of a collective effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the population. Testing and swabbing are all measures to detect and ensure the safety of patients and their respective communities. This has been a great experience because I am on the front lines battling the pandemic and reliving the workload of hardworking providers. I have also been able to develop critical skills such as organization, flexibility, and attention to detail.
